Old lady at the diner put ketchup on her ice cream once

Was at Mel's Diner off Route 9 back in 2016 and this grandma at the next booth ordered a hot fudge sundae then asked for ketchup packets. She squirted some on top and said her husband dared her to try it in 1957 and she never stopped. Has anyone else seen someone do ketchup on sweet stuff like that?

Honestly seen it twice at different truck stops. Old folks are weird with ketchup.

Ketchup is a weird hill to die on but I guess every generation has its quirks. My grandpa would drown everything in ketchup including scrambled eggs which is just wrong. Always thought it was a diner thing not a truck stop thing specifically, but I guess interstate travelers gotta eat too. Seen a guy pour it on his hot dog once, that was a crime against humanity.
