Pickle juice in Dr Pepper sounded genius, my taste buds filed a complaint

I tried it last Saturday after seeing a TikTok about it. Mixed about 2 ounces of dill pickle brine into a 12 oz can of Dr Pepper over ice. First sip was actually not terrible, but by the third sip the sweet and salty clash turned into something that tasted like a gas station hot dog left in soda. My buddy Mike tried it too and literally spat it out onto my driveway. We both agreed it's a 2 out of 10, only because it didn't make us gag immediately. Has anyone found a ratio that actually works, or is this combo just cursed for good?
