Serious question, I used to dunk fries in a vanilla milkshake, now I dip them in pickle juice and hot honey
I used to think fries and a vanilla shake from the McDonald's on 5th was the best combo, but last week I tried dipping them in pickle juice mixed with hot honey at a diner in Tulsa. The salty and sour from the pickle cuts the grease way better than sweet does. Now I keep a little jar of that mix in my fridge and I've gone through 3 jars in 6 days. Has anyone else tried a pickle juice dip, and what else should I throw in it?
The salty and sour from the pickle cuts the grease way better than sweet does, that line right there is the whole secret. Sweet just sits on top of the fry and makes everything heavier. Pickle juice goes to work on the oil and hot honey comes in after with a little burn. I add a spoon of mustard to mine, the cheap yellow kind, and a shake of smoked paprika. Sounds weird but it turns the dip into something closer to a BBQ sauce with a kick. Also try it on onion rings, way better than fries if you ask me.
