Shoutout to the pickle juice and Dr Pepper combo I got at a gas station in Abilene
Stopped at a Buc-ee's outside Abilene on a road trip and saw a guy pour pickle juice straight into his Dr Pepper cup, so I tried it and honestly it works, salty and sweet at the same time. Back in high school we thought mixing soda flavors at the fountain was the wildest thing we could do, and now people are dumping brine in and nobody blinks. I'd rate it a solid 7 out of 10, better than the chocolate on pizza I tried a few months back. What's the weirdest fountain drink mix you all have actually stuck with?

Ha, pickle juice in Dr Pepper is old news down here, we were doing that at football games years back. The real Abilene move is a splash of Big Red in your sweet tea.

Tried that Big Red tea thing at a cookout last summer and it works way better than it has any right to. Seems like every little town around here has its own weird combo like that, somebody's uncle swears by it and next thing you know the whole town drinks it. Half of them sound gross on paper but you try it and go huh, alright. Guess that's just how food traditions start, somebody bored at a ballgame mixing whatever's in the cooler.
