That diner waitress in Ohio who made me try peanut butter on my burger

Back in 2011, she slid a plate across the counter and said 'trust me, honey, it's better than ketchup,' and I've never ordered a burger without it since, so has anyone else had a stranger's food combo suggestion actually stick with them for over a decade?

Back in 2009 I was at a cookout in Tampa and this guy's uncle put a slice of pineapple and teriyaki sauce on a burger. I thought it was gross. I was a plain cheese and ketchup person, real set in my ways. But I tried it because he was grilling and I didn't want to be rude. Now I won't eat a burger without grilled pineapple and teriyaki. It's been 15 years and I still think about that random uncle every time I fire up the grill. That one weird combo changed how I look at barbecue forever.
