WARNING: Skip the peanut butter and mayo sandwich idea

I saw someone online raving about peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches so I tried it last night. I used crunchy peanut butter and Hellmann's on white bread and took one bite before instantly regretting it. The mayo made the peanut butter go SLIMY and weird, like eating something that had gone bad. Honestly I had to throw the whole thing away after two bites. Has anyone actually made this combo work with different ingredients?
