PSA: Tried a shop vac on a creosote log fire and learned a hard lesson
I got a call about a chimney fire last month, figured I'd suck up the smoldering creosote with my shop vac to speed things up. Big mistake - that hot ash melted the hose within 30 seconds and filled the room with plastic smoke. Anyone else made a dumb move trying to take a shortcut on a job?
