Rant: customer said brushing from the ground with a 30 foot pole is lazy, but I'm not so sure
Had a guy in Des Moines tell me last Thursday that any sweep who doesn't get on the roof is cutting corners, and then a sweep with 32 years in told me he hasn't climbed a steep pitch since 2019 because of his knees. So which is it, is pole brushing a real service or a shortcut? Curious what the old timers here actually do on a basic one story ranch.
Wait, 32 years in and he just stopped climbing steep pitches in 2019? That blows my mind. My uncle did this work for over 20 years and he was up on roofs until the day he retired, bad hip and all. So are you telling me a guy with three decades of experience is out there pole brushing and nobody bats an eye? That customer in Des Moines has no clue what he's talking about. Knees give out, it happens, and a pole still gets the job done on a basic ranch.
