Switched from wire brushes to poly brushes for flue cleaning and never going back

Ngl, I was using the standard wire brushes for like 3 years on every job. Finally tried a poly brush on a heavy creosote job in an old house in Portland last month. The wire brush just wasnt grabbing the stuff on the walls, kept sliding over it. Poly brush dug right in and I had half the mess to clean up after. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference?

Poly brushes handle the thick stuff way better.

Did you try rolling the paint on first and then using the brush to lay it off? That combo worked wonders for me when I had to do a whole room in that thick trim paint. I just dipped the brush in a little deeper than usual and worked in small sections. Made a huge difference compared to when I tried to thin it out or use a cheaper brush that left streaks everywhere.

Oh yeah, I learned that lesson the hard way last spring.
