Tried a new creosote remover spray last month, the results were wild

I've always just used the standard powder stuff, but I saw this gel spray at the supply house and grabbed a can. Used it on two identical flues in a duplex last week. The powder took my usual 45 minutes per chimney with a lot of brushing. The gel spray cut that down to maybe 25 minutes. It clings to the sides way better and really softens the glazed stuff. The brush just glides through after it sits for 10 minutes. Anyone else switched to a gel formula and noticed a big time save?

My powder still works fine for me.

Yeah but that's the thing with powder, it can seem fine right up until it doesn't. Moisture gets in over time and it just stops clumping right. I keep mine in a sealed jar with one of those silica packets. If you're still using the original container, that's probably why.

What did the product label say about moisture? I bet that changes things.
