Vent: my 24 foot ladder slipped on a slate roof in Rochester and scared the daylights out of me
Was up on a two story place near Rochester last Thursday, dry slate, and my ladder feet slid about 6 inches right as I stepped off onto the roof. Turns out the rubber pads were worn smooth and I had not checked them since spring. I climbed back down, threw a 2x4 behind the feet, and finished the flue, but my hands were shaking the whole time. How often do you all swap out your ladder feet, and do you carry a spare set on the truck?
