That one Tuesday where everything went wrong in Raleigh...

Last Tuesday I had a simple trim job lined up in Raleigh... should've been a 4 hour gig but I didn't account for the homeowner changing the crown molding specs three times. Then my nail gun jammed on every other shot and I had to drive 20 minutes to grab a replacement from the rental shop. By the end of the day I had put in 9 hours for what was supposed to be a half day and the client asked me to knock $50 off because I "took too long." Has anyone else had a job where the scope creep just killed your whole week?

That 20 minute drive for a backup tool is the part that gets me every time. It's like the universe lines up three small disasters in a row just to test your patience. It shows how one little breakdown can domino and eat up your whole day before you even get a chance to catch your breath. I've noticed this pattern in a lot of areas lately, not just work. People expect everything to go smooth and fast, but they don't realize how many small things have to line up perfectly for that to happen.

Started trimming a door once and ended up replacing half the subfloor.
