Warning: got burned on a handshake deal at the Supply House counter in Tulsa
I was picking up a load of 2x4s last month at the yard in Tulsa and a guy I did a couple jobs with asked me to grab him 40 boards on my account, said he'd square up Friday. Friday came and went and now he's dodging my calls, so I'm out about $180 and it's on my charge account. I finally called the yard manager and asked if they'd let me dispute it, and he basically laughed and said a verbal is a verbal. So now I'm writing out a little ticket on my phone for every single favor, even from guys I trust. Any of you ever had to chase money like this, and did you ever get it back?
