A guy swore by counting out loud to rude customers, and I honestly can't tell if it's genius or insane
Worked the register at a pet store in Columbus for two years and had a lady scream at me for 6 minutes about a $4 bag of treats being expired. My coworker Deb started counting out loud during her next yelling match, just calm, "one... two... three..." and the guy actually quieted down by eight. Half our crew swears it resets their brain, the other half says it's disrespectful and could get you written up. I tried it once on a lady mad about a return and she asked if I was having a stroke, so I'm torn. Does this actually work for you guys or is it just asking for a complaint?
