Found a trick for dealing with the "I'll be right there" customers who never show up

I deliver food in Austin and got tired of people saying they'd meet me outside but then taking 10 minutes. So I started texting them a photo of their bags sitting on their doorstep with a timer screenshot showing 8 minutes left. Suddenly those "be right there" folks started showing up in under 2 minutes. Has anyone else found a weird hack that actually gets customers to move faster?

Taylor from Austin here, I deliver in the same area actually. I gotta respectfully disagree with the timer trick idea. I tried it twice and both times the customer got annoyed and one even complained to the app saying I was rushing them. Most of these people are just bad at estimating time or got distracted, not trying to mess with us on purpose. I think giving them a heads up call 30 seconds out works way better than trying to pressure them with a photo of a timer. Not saying your way doesn't work for you, just in my experience that aggressive approach backfires more than it helps.

The timer trick works because it makes them feel watched. Try adding their name too.
