Lady tried to return a half-eaten sandwich at the grocery deli I work at in Phoenix

So I'm working the customer service desk at a Fry's in Phoenix last Tuesday and this woman walks up with a sub sandwich that's clearly been bitten into like three times. She says 'this tastes off' and wants a full refund. I'm like ma'am you ate half of it. She argues with me for a solid 10 minutes saying it's 'food safety' and I just stood there holding the damn thing. Manager came over and gave her store credit just to get her out the door. Has anyone else had people try to return obviously used food at your store?

Ha! I once tried to return a half-eaten bag of chips myself. Not my finest moment.

But keithbutler that's funny you mention the chips thing because I swear people treat grocery stores like some kind of unlimited food rental service. I've seen someone try to return a half empty bottle of wine that they 'didn't like the taste of' and the manager just refunded it too. It's like once you let one person get away with it, word spreads and suddenly everyone's testing the waters with their half eaten garbage.
