My old boss warned me about the guy who wanted a refund for a 'haunted' blender

Back when I worked at a kitchen supply place in Springfield, my manager Carl told me to never argue with a customer about ghosts. Sure enough, a woman came in claiming her new blender was possessed because it turned on by itself at 3 AM. Carl just nodded, gave her the refund, and later showed me the power cord she'd left dangling into a puddle of water. Anyone else have a customer blame an appliance on the paranormal?

My friend's neighbor swore her new toaster was sending messages. Turns out the digital clock was just reflecting car headlights in a weird way. She returned it anyway.

Wait, but what if the toaster really was trying to say something? @nora_walker57, sometimes our gut feelings are right even when the first explanation seems silly. I've had weird tech glitches that made no sense until later. Maybe she should have kept it a bit longer to see if anything else strange happened!

gut feelings are right" used to be my motto too, but this story changed my mind.
