The guy at Best Buy last Thursday tried to sell me a $200 HDMI cable for my new TV.

He swore up and down that the $200 one had 'gold-plated connectors for better signal clarity' and I just stood there for a solid minute before asking if he actually believed that himself has anyone else dealt with salespeople pushing totally unnecessary expensive stuff?
