This guy at my bar insisted his whiskey was watered down because the ice melted too fast

I just poured him a fresh one neat and told him to let it sit for five minutes, and he swore it tasted 'right' after that. Anyone else have a customer who argued with basic science?

Ever wonder if some people just need to feel like they "fixed" the drink themselves? You giving it time to sit let him feel in control, so his brain agreed it was better. It's less about the ice and more about not wanting to be told they're wrong straight up.

Let them think it's their idea every time. I just hand my dad his coffee and say "try it now" after a minute. He always says it's perfect and I don't have to argue. Works with my boss too, honestly.
