Vent: A client insisted on a $500 'feng shui' consultant before closing, then backed out anyway.

She made me coordinate the whole thing, and the consultant's advice was to move the couch two inches. Anyone else had a deal fall apart over something totally wild?

Honestly, was it really the feng shui that killed the deal? Buyers get cold feet all the time. They might have just used that as their final excuse after worrying about the loan or inspection. I've seen people walk away over a dripping faucet. Moving a couch two inches sounds silly, but it was probably just the last straw for them.

Saw a study once where buyers make up their minds in like the first ten seconds of seeing a place. If the vibe is off from the start, they look for any reason to bail. Feng shui stuff might seem dumb, but it's all about that first gut feeling. People get weirdly superstitious when dropping that much cash. Could totally see a couch being the final nudge if they were already on the fence.

Can confirm... I've bailed over a crooked picture frame.
