Vent: A lady at my old bookstore job tried to pay for a $12 hardcover with a handful of foreign coins.
This was back when I worked at a small shop in Seattle. A customer came up with a book and dumped a bunch of coins on the counter, a mix of euros, Canadian pennies, and what looked like old pesos. She was totally serious and got mad when I said I couldn't take them. She argued that 'money is money' and that we should just figure out the exchange rate. My manager ended up having to step in and basically gave her the book for free just to get her out of the store. After that, we put up a clear sign right at the register that says 'US Currency Only'. It made me wonder, though, is it ever okay to bend the rules like that to avoid a scene, or does it just teach people they can get away with it? What's the line between good customer service and getting walked all over?

Money is money" is a wild take, I mean I tried to pay my rent with a jar of buttons once and it did not go well.

Wait, you actually tried to pay rent with buttons? How did that conversation even start?
