Leased a 2,500 sq ft spot in Corktown, but the landlord wanted 5-year terms and I needed flexibility, who else has done shorter leases?

I went with the 3-year lease plus an option at $18/sq ft, but now the building sold and the new owner wants to renegotiate the option clause, has anyone else dealt with that headache in Detroit?

Ugh, classic Detroit. Get a lawyer to read the original lease before you sign anything new.
