PSA: I hit 10,000 square feet of office leasing this quarter and it messed with my head

I was just going through my numbers last week and realized I leased out exactly 10,035 square feet of downtown office space since January. That's almost a whole floor of one of those old buildings on Woodward. I never set a goal or tracked it that way, but seeing that round number made me stop and think about how much work actually went into each deal. Has anyone else had a milestone number sneak up on them like that?

Yeah absolutely I had the exact same thing happen to me last year. I was just checking my spreadsheet for the hell of it and saw I had closed on 152 residential units total. I didn't even realize I had crossed that line until I saw the number. It felt weird because each one was just its own deal with its own problems and victories and then suddenly they all added up to something bigger than I expected. Made me think about all the late nights and the showings and the negotiations that went into that pile of paperwork. Kind of a strange feeling honestly like you just look back and go oh I actually did something here.

Man I read something the other day about how most people don't realize their biggest accomplishments until way after the fact. Some psychologist was saying our brains are wired to focus on the next thing instead of pausing to see what we built. 152 units though? That's wild. I bet if you looked back at the first few deals you probably had no clue it would stack up like that. Kinda makes you wonder what else you've done that you haven't stopped to count yet.
