Zoning changes in SW Detroit caught me off guard at inspection

Went to finalize a lease on a small warehouse off Vernor and the city said the parcel got rezoned for mixed use back in March, so the truck bay I planned on is a no-go. My broker never flagged it, and the listing still says light industrial. Anyone else run into stale zoning info on LoopNet or city portals, and how do you check before you sign?
