Choosing between a $500 flight to Bali or staying put in Chiang Mai for a month
I had a month left on my visa and needed to decide if chasing a cheap flight deal was worth the hassle of moving again. I chose to stay in Chiang Mai, which saved me the stress but maybe missed a new experience. Do you usually chase cheap flights or pick stability when you're already settled somewhere?

Didn't you used to always chase the cheap flight deals too?

Man, I had the exact same choice in Portugal last year. A crazy cheap flight to Morocco popped up, but I was finally unpacked and had a routine going. I stayed put, and honestly, not dealing with packing, airports, and finding a new place was the real win. Sometimes just being settled is the better deal, even if you miss a cool spot. You can always go to Bali later.

Three cheap flights popped up for me last year and I turned all of them down for the same reason. My kids had finally stopped asking when we were going somewhere new every single day and I just couldn't bring myself to break that calm. @emmag22 I think you get it, it's like the cost of going isn't just money, it's the energy of starting over again. Idk, maybe it's just me but unpacking my bags and knowing where everything is feels better than a stamp in my passport at this point.
