Coworking spaces vs coffee shops for actual work
I spent 6 months working from coffee shops in Chiang Mai and thought I was saving money. Then I tried a coworking space for 30 days at $150 and wow what a difference. Coffee shops have constant noise, unreliable wifi, and you're always buying drinks to justify sitting there. Coworking spaces gave me proper desks, fast internet, and I could actually focus for 4 hours straight. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big boost in their output?

Wow what a difference" - yeah no kidding, its almost like paying a fraction of what you'd spend on 30 days of coffee shop drink guilt trips actually gets you a workspace meant for work. I swear every time I worked from a coffee shop I felt like I was pulling a heist just by existing there past the 45 minute mark. Plus you never know when some rando is gonna blast their bluetooth speaker or a toddler starts screaming about a muffin. A coworking space basically pays for itself in not having to fake-smile at baristas while you drain their drip coffee supply.

Are you telling me you've never tried to hide behind a laptop while a barista gives you the side eye for not ordering a third latte? @bennett.vera hit the nail on the head - that guilt trip alone is worth the membership fee. I'd rather pay for a desk I can actually sprawl out on than pretend I'm sipping a $7 drink with a straight face.

Man I still remember the time a barista literally handed me a check for the wifi after I’d been there two hours, not even kidding - @bennett.vera is right, that's a whole new level of guilt trip you don't get with a proper desk.
