I always thought you needed a fancy setup to work from the beach
For years I avoided working near sand or water because I figured my laptop would get wrecked. Last month in Da Nang, I saw a guy with a simple plastic tub from a hardware store. He put his laptop inside it while he worked right at the water's edge. I bought a similar tub for about 2 dollars and tried it myself. It sounds silly, but it completely blocks the wind from blowing sand onto the keyboard and gives me peace of mind if a splash happens. I got a full afternoon of work done with my feet in the sand, which I never thought was possible. Now I bring that tub everywhere. Has anyone else found a cheap, simple fix that opened up a new type of workspace for them?

That's so smart! Did you have to weigh the tub down at all to stop it from blowing away?

Yeah, I just put a couple bricks in the bottom.

Was the guy using one of those clear storage tubs with the snap on lid? I read a blog post about a guy who drilled a hole in the side of one for his charger cable, said it was basically a cheap outdoor office. He even used some velcro strips inside to stop his mouse from sliding around.
