Just hit 50 different coffee shops worked from this year

I was looking back at my notes from my time in Lisbon and saw the count. It's not about the coffee, it's about finding spots with good light, a power outlet near the seat, and wifi that actually lets me upload client files. The 50th was this tiny place in Porto with a single table by the window that was perfect. I stayed for four hours and bought two pastries to be polite. It made me think, how much of my routine is just hunting for the next good table? What's your one non-negotiable thing for a work spot, besides the obvious internet?

Read an article once that called it "chair math," like figuring out if a spot is worth it based on hours stayed. My non-negotiable is background noise level. A totally silent place makes me feel weirdly watched, but loud music is worse.

Ever notice how the type of background noise changes your focus, @logan236? Like, a low hum of conversation helps me read, but the clatter of dishes from a kitchen is pure distraction. It's not just about volume, it's about the KIND of sound. That totally changes my own "chair math" for staying put.

That "clatter of dishes" thing is spot on, but what about jarring sounds like a phone ringing?
