Rant: My laptop charger died in Chiang Mai and I had to pay $80 for a new one

Last week I was working from a cafe in Chiang Mai and my charger just stopped working, no warning. I had to run to a mall and buy the only one they had, which was way overpriced. Has anyone found a good universal charger that can handle different voltages without breaking?

That's brutal, happened to me in Bangkok last year. Got stuck paying tourist prices for a basic cable. A good universal charger is a lifesaver for travel, just make sure it has enough wattage.

Hold up, is buying one overpriced cable really that big of a deal? It's annoying for sure, but it's not a life changing event. You just learn from it and move on. Calling a charger a "lifesaver" feels a bit much for a minor travel hassle. People act like every little inconvenience is a major crisis these days.
