Showerthought: My first remote work setup in a tiny apartment abroad

I set up my office in a Lisbon flat with one power outlet across the room. My extension cord was too short, so I tripped over it and unplugged everything during a team meeting. Back then, I just assumed places would have basic stuff sorted. Now I check photos for outlets before booking anywhere. That crash was a loud wake-up call to scout the basics.

Yeah, I used to just look at the overall vibe of a place... thought if it looked cool, the basics would be fine. That mirror trick about checking for power strips is actually genius, never would have crossed my mind before. Now I zoom in on every photo looking for plugs, and if the nightstand is empty, I know it's a bad sign. That one bad setup really flipped a switch for me. I guess you don't know what you need to look for until you get burned by it.

How many outlets do you count in an Airbnb photo now? I read a blog where a guy said he always looks for the reflection of power strips in mirrors. My own rule is if the bed isn't near an outlet, the work desk probably won't be either.

Have you ever avoided a bad rental thanks to that mirror reflection tip?
