That guy in a Chiang Mai cafe who just had a paper map

This was maybe 2015, I was hunched over my laptop in a cafe on Nimman Road. An older German guy sat next to me and pulled out a huge, folded paper map of Southeast Asia. He pointed to a town in Laos and said, 'The bus here broke down for two days, best time I ever had.' I realized I was just staring at a screen in a different city. Has anyone else had a moment that made you question the whole 'connected' lifestyle?

Remember that scene in the first Spider-Man movie with the train. They built that whole thing just to film it, you know? Makes you wonder what else we accept as real when it's all just a set. Kinda changes how you watch anything now.

Totally ruins the magic sometimes. Saw a behind the scenes for that desert planet in Star Wars. Just a parking lot with some sand and a big blue screen. Makes every wide shot feel fake now.
