Can we talk about using a pickle pipe lid for kimchi

Honestly, I was sure those silicone airlock lids were just a gimmick for beginners. But after my third batch in a quart jar with a pickle pipe, the kimchi came out perfect with zero mold, not even a hint of funk. Ngl, it totally changed my mind about needing a heavy crock for small ferments. Has anyone else switched to these for their spicy projects?

Exploding kimchi" sounds like my last attempt at home brewing.

My grandma in Seoul would probably side-eye the tech, but I mean, the science checks out. It lets the gas out without letting the bad stuff in, which is the whole point of a crock anyway.
