I finally saw how sharing my kombucha got my whole block talking
I left a bottle of my latest kombucha batch on my porch for a neighbor. She tried it and told two other people on our street. Now a few of us swap starters and talk about our brews over the fence. It's kind of wild how a drink can make folks who barely waved before chat like old friends. Idk, maybe it's just me, but it turned a quiet street into a friendlier place.

Honestly, that sounds like a quick way to start problems with people. Now you've got expectations to keep sharing your stuff, and what if someone gets sick from a bad batch and blames you? (That's a real liability thing). It just feels like forced community, and not everyone wants to talk about sour tea all the time. It turns your home into a social hub when maybe you just wanted quiet. Pretty soon you're managing people's feelings instead of just living on your street.

Small kindnesses build trust, and not everything needs to turn into drama.

My zucchini did the same thing last summer, totally get what @carr.elliot means about the small stuff. Now I’ve got a weird tomato trade going with three houses down.
